No one likes a know-it-all … you know the type! They correct your grammar on Facebook. They fact check posts and search wiki-quote to admonish people when they post unattributed inspirational messages.
Sometimes, a know-it-all is good to have around. They make excellent proof readers. While proof reading your tweets and Instagram posts isn’t an efficient use of their time or your money, there are times that you wish their smug little souls would have been there.
Exhibit A: T-shirt gone wrong.

When you’re in business for yourself, it’s customary to have t-shirts printed up with your logo and your slogan. Of course, you need to provide directions as to the placement of text and the colors. You’ll want it just right. You’ll agonize over color swatches and work with the printer to determine what color ink shows up best on what color shirt. You may not, however, want those directions printed ON the shirts.
It's so hard to figure out why the directive to use blue ink on the t-shirt was literally printed on the shirt (to the right) along with the tag line … but isn’t this a nice little example of situational irony that they managed to print it in black instead of blue? Just when you think you could credit someone with following the directions … they don’t.
This is why parenthesis can be very important (they're also handy for snarky comments with the body of your story). No one knows where it all went wrong with this shirt. Perhaps it was a lack of parenthesis on the part of the customer. Maybe they ordered online from another country and the ordering process needs work. Maybe someone never looked at the proof ... it's really hard to tell. There's always the theory that the screen printer hit his head really hard on the car door that morning or he was partaking of herbal remedies.
This just goes to show it's best to have a reputable company with ample experience in avoiding these types of mishaps. Your time is your most valuable asset, don't waste it correcting mistakes like this (although, this is a particularly funny mistake and is a worthy of these parenthesis to say so). At Full Moon Sales, we can ensure your shirts don't crack anyone up ... you know, unless they are meant to. Along with shirts, we can provide you with just about any promotional item you can think of. From the tiniest key chain to giant golf umbrellas and anything in-between.
